Effective enforcement of EU competition law by Hungarian courts

The last part of the joint discussion series of the Central European Lawyers Initiative and Gazdasági Versenyhivatal focused on the effective enforcement of hashtagEUcompetitionlaw by Hungarian courts.
Andras Toth emphasized in his key note presentation that Hungarian courts do not invoke the principle of effective enforcement of EU competition law, and therefore in several cases the legislator had to supplement it (for example, interpretation of the 10% fine limit or limitation period).
Zoltán Nándor Ay, Péter Virág, Csongor István Nagy, and Kovács András (judge) participated in the panel which was moderated by Tunde Gonczol and discussed, among others, the reasons for the limited number of preliminary rulings in competition law from Hungary since 2010.
